How do I decide?

The filing of a bankruptcy is a complicated process that we try to make easy.   Many people attempt to educate themselves on the different kinds of bankruptcy (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13) before they come to a final decision of picking up the phone and calling a bankruptcy attorney. The truth is that bankruptcy is a complicated legal proceeding that differs greatly from person to person depending on their particular financial circumstances. It is nearly impossible for a person to make this decision on their own before they schedule an appointment.

I offer a free consultation to anyone. During this meeting, we review your entire financial situation to determine if bankruptcy will solve your problem, and to decide whether Chapter 13 or Chapter 7 is the better action for you. The final decision is up to you AFTER we have explained how bankruptcy will benefit you. Some situations are simple, and there is one clear path to escaping your debts and getting a fresh start. Other situations are more complex, and bankruptcy may not be a fit.   But these decisions require a face-to-face meeting where you bring certain information so that we can quickly and easily make this determination.

For this free consultation, you will need to bring your last six months income (pay stubs or other printout of your income), a list of all creditors, the last two years of your federal income tax returns, as well as your photo ID and social security card. The easiest way to make an appointment is to call between 8 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment. You may also email or message us to schedule an appointment.
